A small stock of staples means you can make a meal without a trip to the store, and fewer takeout nights.
A starter list
- Rice, pasta and oats
- Canned tomatoes, beans and tuna
- Broth or bouillon
- Flour, sugar, oil and vinegar
- Onions, garlic and potatoes
- Frozen vegetables

Build it slowly
Add one or two staples a week when they're on sale. You don't need to stock everything at once.
