Starting your plan from what's on sale, and what's in season, can cut a grocery bill without changing what you eat much.
How
- Look at your store's weekly ad or app before you plan
- Pick one or two meals around sale proteins or produce
- Buy extra of sale staples you'll really use and freeze them
- Skip "deals" on things that weren't on your plan
In season
Fruit and vegetables in season are often cheaper and taste better. Frozen and canned produce are good, cheap options the rest of the year.
